MINOT – Several agencies that offer valuable assistance to people in the city and surrounding area gathered at Oak Park Wednesday.
“We want to send a message of collaboration in the community,” said Rachel Johnson, Management Training Corporation and organizer of the event. “Here you’ll find the services that are out there, most of them. We’re working together. Whatever a person needs we can find it here.”
Several tables were set up in the park, staffed by the many support agencies in the city. The theme for the gathering was, “It Takes a Village.”
“The whole idea is to get a bunch of community providers together and, hopefully, people that are in need and give everybody an opportunity to talk, meet, mingle, and support each other in our community,” explained Nathan Faa, Faa Addiction Services. “What we focus on is addiction, mental health, and suicide awareness.”
It was the second year for the event, which made the move from Roosevelt Park the previous year.
