MINOT - Food, fun, and festivities were enjoyed by a number of families as parents took their kids to a place the kids may not think exciting under normal circumstances.
Ryan Family Dealership in Minot hosted its Food Truck Festival on Thursday in the Ryan Nissan parking lot with music, games, jumping castle and, of course, food trucks.
Food trucks this year included Tim Dandy's BBQ and Smoked Meats, Maria Ramona's Mexican Food, Jamaican Vybz Kitchen, Murphy's Ice Cream, and Mama Mac’s Kitchen.
"Food trucks are super busy in the summer around here," said Kristen Brown, events coordinator for Ryan Family Dealerships. "It was nice that we were able to lock so many down. We just wanted to put on an event to bring the community together."
Though it rained earlier in the day, the sun came out bright and shiny for the event.
"We tried to get a variety of different options," said Emily Lindquist, marketing specialist for Ryan Family Dealerships. "It is a nice option for customers coming here, so they can come and eat food while their car is in service. We like doing things like this for the community. Who doesn't love a good food truck?"
Lindquist said she and her fellow marketing coordinators put on the event twice last year.
"This year we wanted to make it even bigger and better, so we brought out the bouncing castle, the basketball, and some cornhole," said Lindquist.
"Our number one seller is chicken sandwiches," said MacKenzie Casper, Mama Mac's Kitchen. "Every day we pretty much sell out of our chicken sandwiches. That's what we're best known for."
"This is my fun job," said Tim Lingelbach, owner of Tim's Dandy's BBQ and Smoked Meats. "I've smoked meats for about 30 years, and I've had people tell me for years and years that I should be doing something with it, so that's what I did."
