Pled Guilty to Felony Charges

MINOT – When police notified a Minot mother that Cale Schalesky, 24, Hettinger, had been released from jail she responded by saying she already knew because Schalesky was in her daughter’s closet that morning.

Schalesky was apprehended on a charge of Gross Sexual Imposition-Sexual Contact-Victim Under 15, and Possession of Certain Materials Prohibited. He pled guilty to both charges June 2, 2023.

In court Tuesday Judge Todd Cresap ordered that Schalesky be sentenced to 20 years in the State Penitentiary with 10 years suspended, register as a Sex Offender, have no contact with the victim during the period of incarceration and 10 years of supervised probation, and undergo a Sexual Offender Treatment Program.

Schalesky received a five-year sentence on the charge of Possession of Certain Materials Prohibited to run concurrent with his longer sentence. He was given credit for 363 days served in the Ward County Jail.
