Evaluation to precede sentencing

WASHBURN – Joshua Eddy, 32, has entered guilty pleas to four C felony charges – two of Sexual Assault, Corruption or Solicitation of Minors, and Luring Minors by Computer.

Eddy, Bismarck, was arrested December 7, 2022, and made his initial appearance in South Central District Court the following day, entering a not guilty plea to all four counts, setting up a jury trial which was to begin March 23. However, Eddy changed his pleas to guilty earlier this week.

Judge James Hill ordered a presentence investigation and evaluation.

Eddy, who had been teaching at the Washburn Public School for 10 years, is alleged to have had sexual contact on multiple occasions with a 15-year-old female student at the school.

The penalty in North Dakota for a Class C felony carries a maximum of five years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine. No date for Eddy’s sentencing has been set.
