Minot State to induct Dean Frantsvog into Athletics Hall of Fame

MINOT – Honoring more than a decade of dedication and service to Minot State, Beaver Athletics is pleased to announce that Dean Frantsvog has been selected for induction into the Minot State Athletics Hall of Fame in the Honorary Award category.

Frantsvog will be part of the Class of 2022 and joins Jen Dixon (softball and volleyball), Whitney (Stanley) Aberle (golf and golf coach), Travis Hanson (track and field), and the Beavers’ 1986 gymnastics team as the newest additions to the Minot State Athletics Hall of Fame.

The Class of 2022 will be honored at an induction ceremony on Friday, Oct. 14, at 5 p.m. at Clarion Hotel (2200 E. Burdick Expressway) as part of the Homecoming 2022 festivities. The Class of 2022 will also be honored at halftime of the Beavers' homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 15, against Northern State at 2 p.m. at Herb Parker Stadium.

Tickets for the Hall of Fame banquet are available by contacting the Minot State Athletic Office at (701) 858-3041. Tickets for the Homecoming football game are available online at msubeavertickets.universitytickets.com.

A 1997 graduate of Minot State with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice, Frantsvog went on to earn his Juris Doctorate in 2000 from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minn., then returned to his alma mater in 2004 to serve as a professor in the College of Business.

Since joining the faculty at Minot State, Frantsvog has been instrumental in writing and contributing to the successful grant process in securing significant funding for renovating Herb Parker Stadium and other MSU community facilities.

Along with his contributions in helping raise funds, Frantsvog also helped review and advise Minot State and the Beaver Athletic department on compliance and policy issues during MSU’s transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II competition.

Frantsvog also chaired the MSU Athletics Advisory Council, served on the MSU Athletics Hall of Fame Committee, and served as Minot State’s Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) from 2010 through the summer of 2022.

Additionally, thanks to the generosity of Dean and his wife Sara, American Trust Center, United Community Bank, and Vibeto Orthodontics, the Dean Frantsvog Academic Success Center opened in 2018 in the MSU Dome.

During his years of service to Minot State, he has been honored as the Minot State University Professor of the Year in 2018, with the MSU Board of Regents Faculty Achievement Award in 2012, the MSU Golden Award for Young Alumni in 2011, and the MSU Vision 2013 Merit Award.
