A fire in northwest Minot Tuesday afternoon caused significant damage to the basement and main floor of a home.
The Minot Fire Department was dispatched to 1113 10th St. NW at approximately 2 p.m. for a structure fire. Upon arrival on scene, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the basement and main floor of the home.
Crews extinguished most of the fire from outside, spraying water through windows and doorways before making entrance into the home to complete extinguishing the flames. Firefighters ventilated the home to ensure all smoke and carbon monoxide was expelled from the structure, and then checked the home for hot spots. All occupants of the home safely exited.
No firefighters were injured in the incident. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
