MINOT – The public can help those in need this week through Ryan Nissan’s angel tree.

Kristen Brown, event coordinator and reputation management for Ryan Nissan, said Ryan Nissan partnered with the Minot Commission on Aging.

“We collect new unwrapped gifts until December 16,” said Brown. “Then we will wrap them and help hand deliver them with the Minot Commission on Aging on the 19th when they go out and deliver the meals for the homebound.”

Brown said anyone from the public can donate gifts, as Ryan Nissan had a kickoff on December 3 with Santa, a hot cocoa bar, ornament painting, and more.

The list of gift ideas can be found on Ryan Nissan’s Facebook page and website. Gifts can be delivered to Ryan Nissan.

“It’s pretty much anything that you think the homebound would need,” Brown explained. “From blankets to puzzles. If we have duplicates of things it’s no big deal.”

“This is our third annual year doing it, so of course we’re trying to get bigger and better every year,” said Emily Lindquist, deputy director of marketing. “We have 700 gifts we need to collect this year, two gifts per recipient and there’s 352 that we’re giving gifts to this year.”
