MINOT – Early Christmas is in the air with ornaments and lights almost ready to shine on the big Christmas tree on Main Street.
Chad Wright, board member for Minot Downtown Business Professional Association and organizer of the Christmas tree display, said many organizations and people have been working to get the tree set up.
The Minot Parks Forest Tree Department delivered the tree from Diana Draovitch, who donated the tree from her property, Hight Construction set up the tree, and SRT set up the lights and decorated the top of the tree.
“On Saturday morning some people from our church, Home Church of the Nazarene, are going to finish the decorating,” said Wright. “We’re also going to do some of the light posts in that area downtown by the tree.”
Wright said Ted Bolton from Northern Sentry and Holmes Electric helped with the electrical work.
Wright said this is his first year handling the Christmas tree.
“I ended up taking this on because my church was doing the decorating,” said Wright.
The Christmas tree will be lit on Friday, November 25 at 6 p.m, where some downtown businesses plan to participate in the event.
