Legislators in the House Energy and Natural Resources Committee said no to a bill Thursday that would have allowed a deer gun hunter kill deer for others in the field.
HB1377, the Party Hunting bill, proposed that any member of a deer hunting party of 10 or fewer could harvest deer for another provided all in the party had legal deer hunting licenses.
The bill received a Do Not Pass recommendation on a 9-4 vote with one committee member absent. The bill will be forwarded to the full House of Representatives for their consideration.
