Minot - District 40 Republican candidates Matthew Ruby and Macy Bolinske have secured seats in the North Dakota House, defeating Democratic candidate Alexandra Deufel by over 1,000 votes. In the Senate race, Republican candidate Jose Castaneda won his seat unopposed, completing a successful election night for the District 40 Republicans in these state legislative races.

Ruby, the incumbent legislator for District 40, has now become the most seasoned representative for the district, having served in the North Dakota House since 2017. With the recent implementation of term limits, this current term will officially be counted as his second, requiring him to step down at its conclusion.

Bolinske enters her first term in the ND House. She grew up in the Minot area where she attended Bishop Ryan High School. Bolinske currently is a financial administrator for her family's business. Bolinske is focused on key issues such as Pro-Life advocacy, promoting Small Government, and addressing Substance Abuse. For more information about Macy, visit: macybolinske.com
