Letter to the Editor: Actions speak louder than words.

Actions speak louder than words. For the last 7 years, Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb has been busting criminal cartels and stemming the tide of human trafficking at the Southern Border, earning him the nickname, "America’s Sheriff."

But instead of celebrating Sheriff Lamb’s contribution to our nation’s safety and supporting his upcoming appearance at Fargo’s Law & Border event, Mr. Rob Port used his August 15 opinion column to undermine the actions of this brave man with subjective insinuations. Law enforcement is human just like the rest of us, and there are real stories where critiques may be in order. This was not one of them. Mr. Port criticizing an American hero from the safety of his armchair is like if Vice-Presidential candidate Tim Walz were to disparage a combat veteran after he himself chose early military retirement over active deployment. The parallel is revealing.

America’s open borders impact all of us, especially those in border states like North Dakota. Sheriff Lamb’s appearance at the Law & Border event seeks to bring awareness to the border disaster both north and south, the American lives it has destroyed, and the heroes who are fighting to secure our borders and preserve our national sovereignty.

In a statement released Aug 16, Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner said, "I have known Sheriff Mark Lamb for a few years and believe his knowledge of issues affecting border security is something that should be taken seriously. Sheriff Lamb and his agency experience border related issues on a daily basis... I believe Sheriff Lamb to be an individual who very much cares about public safety and has the best interest of his county at the forefront…Although I am not able to attend this event, I am willing to accommodate a discussion, question and answer session in the future...”

Fargo Area Conservatives applaud those like Sheriff Lamb and Sheriff Jahner who are taking action to protect our country.

Sincerely,

Fargo Area Conservatives PAC
