Crash Involvement: Single-Vehicle (CMV)
Type of Crash: Rollover
Agencies Involved: North Dakota Highway Patrol, Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, Harvey
Ambulance, Anamoose Fire and Harvey Fire.
Vehicle No. 1: 2020 Volvo Truck pulling a trailer
Driver No. 1: Wade Wittwer: 55-year-old male of Little Falls MN; non-life-threatening injuries
Restraints: Seatbelt in use
Charges: Failure to maintain control (distracted driving)
NARRATIVE: On January 9, 2024 at approximately 1:30 PM, a 2020 Volvo Semi-Truck pulling
a trailer was traveling northbound on Highway 14 near mile marker 58. The Volvo ran off the
road to the right, corrected, ran off the road to the left, went over an approach, tripped onto its
driver’s side and slid into the west side ditch striking a utility pole. The driver suffered serious
but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to Trinity in Minot. The driver stated he
was reaching for his water bottle that was on his floorboard prior to running off the road.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
