Ward County Sheriff's Department

 *Press Release*

On September 13, 2023, at approximately 9:52 PM, the Ward County Sheriff’s Department responded to Ward County Road 15, in the vicinity of Green Thumb Greenhouse, to a report of a hit and run traffic accident between a motorcycle and another vehicle.  A 30-year-old male was identified riding their motorcycle east bound towards Minot when a vehicle travelling westbound drifted into the motorcycles lane of travel and struck it. The male was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained injuries which required transport to the hospital.  The striking vehicle fled the scene and has not reported the accident.

The Sheriff’s Department is requesting assistance from the public in locating the striking vehicle. The department believes that the vehicle is a 2009-2014 Ford F-150, with driver’s side damage. Debris at the scene of the crash included pieces of a Ford drivers side mirror assembly and Ford wheel center cap.

The suspected non-damaged appearance of the mirror and center cap are pictured below.  If you are aware of someone with this make/model of pickup that sustained similar damage around this time frame, please contact Detective Nicholas Wooster at 701-857-6500. Tips may also be sent anonymously to our Tip411 tip line by texting number 847411, keyword NDWARD and then the message.
