MINOT – One of two people charged with alleged involvement in a shooting in this city is behind bars while an arrest warrant has been issued for the other.
Judge Gary Lee set bond this week for Sydney Roller, 20, Minot, for her alleged role in a shooting incident in northwest Minot on July 7, 2023, that resulted in the wounding of one man. Police say they recovered 24 spent shell casings at the scene in one of the most extensive shoot ‘em ups in city history.
An arrest warrant has also been issued for a man accused in the shooting, Jordan Bailey, 26, who remains at large.
Roller is charged with 10 class C felonies, one of Accomplice to Aggravated Assault and nine Accomplice to Reckless Endangerment. Each charge carries the possibility of 5 years imprisonment.
Lee told Roller that the charges against her carry a mandatory sentence of two years in prison without parole. He also set her bond at $200,000. The state had requested $250,000.
In a statement of fact filed with the court, Minot Police say Roller lured the victim into an ambush, ducking down for cover moments before the shooting began. Bullets fired in the fracas entered three apartments, including one in which a female and five children were sleeping.
Warrants of arrest for both Roller and Bailey were issued September 15. Lee set a preliminary hearing for Roller on October 26 at 9:30 a.m. and a pretrial conference for January 3, 2024.
