NARRATIVE: At approximately 0140 pm, at the intersection of US Highway 83 and ND
Highway 23 an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado on Highway 23 failed to yield to a southbound
Freightliner truck. The Freightliner attempted to brake but struck the crossing Chevrolet
Silverado. Both vehicles entered the southeast median. The driver of the Freightliner truck was
wearing his seatbelt and sustained no injuries. Currently, seatbelt usage on the driver of the
Chevrolet Silverado is unknown, he was pronounced deceased on scene.
This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
