NARRATIVE: Vehicle #1 was northbound on US 83 enroute from Watford City, ND to Minot, ND. The vehicle was traveling in the left lane of US #83. Both the driver and the front seat passenger were wearing their seatbelts. The vehicle came upon a pedestrian in the middle of the left lane and could not avoid striking him with the front of the vehicle. The vehicle struck the pedestrian and then came to rest facing northbound on the shoulder of the roadway. The pedestrian came to rest in the left lane along the center median. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
