MORTON COUNTY — The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a drunk driver hit an NDHP Trooper's squad car in Morton County around 1:00 in the morning on Sunday.
The Trooper, facing eastbound on a westbound lane, had been manning the road closure on I94 with all of his emergency lights activated. He was able to see the vehicle of the drunk driver and moved out of the way a bit, causing him to only be side swiped as opposed to a complete head on collision. The drunk driver continued and went through the closure gates.
Nobody was injured in the collisions. The Morton County Sheriff's Department investigated the crash and arrested the driver for a DUI.
This incident is under investigation by Morton County and the NDHP.
