North Dakota citizens value our natural resources that support hunting and fishing and other outdoor recreation activities. These outdoor activities provide millions of dollars to our local economies, provide quality outdoor recreation, and enrich our quality of life. Unfortunately, these assets are often taken for granted, ignored, or discounted by planners, developers, and decision makers. Every land-based policy or project potentially impacts natural resources that provide values such as water quality, soil health, and fish and wildlife habitats.

Therefore, it is in North Dakota's best interest for the legislature and state agencies to ensure that outdoor interests are equally represented and given equal consideration when making land-based decisions or reviewing projects effecting the natural resources that support outdoor activities like hunting and fishing.
