The Dakotan: This is outdoor issues with Neil Roberts and North Dakota Game and fish outreach biologist Greg Gullickson. Neil Roberts: We're talking deer hunting in this report and Greg, the numbers are dwindling, but still some deer tags available in a few units. Give us the details. Greg Gullickson: Yeah, and it was announced last week that more than 3500 deer licenses were still available in seven units across North Dakota's landscape for the 2022 deer gun season. Now, those did go on sale first come first serve on July 27. These are open for residents and nonresidents who have not received a lottery or a landowner license and those are available to apply online. But good news for those of us that have already received a deer license. But maybe just like the taste of deer meat you can purchase in additional license, those will be available August 17th at 8 a.m.. And again, all those are available on the Gaming Fish Department website. The good thing about those leftover tags, if you want an additional what's called no concurrent license, they can be used during any legal season with any legal weapon. So you could harvest that dole with during the archery season with a bow during the deer gun season with a bow rifle or muzzle order or even during the slaughter season with the muzzle order. Neil Roberts: All right. Good stuff., Greg. OK, we'll have more deer when we come back. The Dakotan: You're listening to Outdoor Issues with Neil Roberts on the Dakotan Network. Neil Roberts: Talking deer today on outdoor issues. And Greg, if you really enjoy deer meat, you touched on it before the break a bit, but there's an opportunity for multiple tags. Tell us about it. Greg Gullickson: And that's right with these concurrent tags that'll go on sale August 17th. There is no limit to the number of those licenses that you can use. And, you know, I don't have a muzzle order tag this year. So I'm actually looking at possibly purchasing and one of those I might have to travel a little bit. Neil Roberts: Nice. Hey, that'll put wrap on this report until next time. I'm Neil Roberts. The Dakotan: You're listening to the Dakotan Network. Real. Honest. Local news.
