Drivers in southwest Minot should prepare for detours and delays as the 16th Street SW Reconstruction Project begins Tuesday, May 27. Following Memorial Day weekend, portions of 16th Street and the intersection with Burdick Expressway will be closed to traffic. The project includes pavement removal, storm sewer upgrades, and repaving along one of the city’s busiest roadways.
A temporary neighborhood-only access route will be installed between Cook Drive and 18th Street to maintain local connectivity for residents west of 16th Street and south of 14th Avenue SW per City of Minot's Facebook. This temporary connection will be removed once construction is complete. Access to businesses and homes east of 16th Street will be available via nearby side streets.
More details and updates about the project are available at https://tinyurl.com/MinotRoads, where residents can also sign up for traffic alerts from the city.
