Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project

Minot, N.D. – As a part of MI-7-Roosevelt Park and Zoo phase of the Mouse River
Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) the next step in pre-construction will
take place starting the Monday, February 19th through Friday, March 8th.
The next preconstruction phase for the project is tree removal within the Roosevelt
Park footprint in preparations for full construction to start in the spring of 2024.
Starting TOMORROW Monday, February 19th Roosevelt Park will be CLOSED to ALL
vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
We are asking all citizens to stay clear of this area during this timeframe because of
the tree removal occurring, larger equipment, and large trucks hauling trees once
they are down. During this timeframe all pedestrians will need to look for alternate
walking routes as well, due to the large amount of branch debris that will be within
the park until cleaning has been completed. We appreciate your cooperation to
ensure safety and make sure the process can be completed by the required
deadlines. These deadlines are connected to habitat for certain animals who reside
within the park.
