Injury: Fatal
NARRATIVE: At approximately 1300 pm on 4/7/2024, a fatal train vs pedestrian collision
occurred on the tracks near mile marker 67 on Highway 52 approximately 1.5 miles Northwest
of Carpio. A southbound Canadian Pacific Train operator observed a tractor near the tracks
approximately ½ mile away. The operator sounded the horn. The operator then observed a
male standing on the side of the tracks. The operator continued to sound the horn. The train
struck the male resulting in fatal injuries. Release of the name is pending notification of kin.
The incident remains under investigation by the NDHP.
