MINOT – Cassidy Johnson, 22, Lignite, made his initial appearance in North-Central District Court late Tuesday on three felony charges – gross sexual imposition, luring minors by computer, and possession of certain materials prohibited. The GSI charge is an AA felony punishable by up to life in prison without parole.
A warrant for Johnson’s arrest was issued on August 24 with his arrest happening on Tuesday, September 5. At his initial appearance before Judge Richard Hagar, Johnson chose to appear on interactive television from the Ward County Jail rather than make an in person visit to the courtroom.
Hagar detailed the charges against Johnson and set a preliminary hearing for October 12 at 11:30 a.m. Hagar also set bond at $250,000, an amount he called “sufficient”. Johnson was also ordered to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18 and no access to any form of social media.
