Trinity Health release

MINOT—Trinity Health’s Nutrition Services Department will offer a cooking class, “Low/No Salt Cooking,” Tuesday, October 10, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Trinity Health Community Conference Room at Town & Country Center.

Research shows that too much salt in the diet can increase risk for high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease and other major health problems.

Trinity Health Outpatient Dietitian Kayla Cole, RDN, LRD, says the Low/No Salt Cooking class will offer tips on how to use spices and other techniques to enhance flavor instead of relying on the salt shaker.

“Lower sodium does not have to mean tasteless,” Cole said. “In this class we’ll show how to add more flavor to meals without adding extra sodium.”

A $10 free will be charged to cover recipes and food samples. Space is limited. Interested participants are asked to register by October 9 by calling 701-857-5268.
