UPDATE: Sources report Burgum suffered a torn Achillies tendon and will need the support of crutches during an afternoon debate stage walk-through. No decision has been made as to whether the ND governor will attend the debate.

MILWAUKEE – Multiple news outlets are reporting that Republican presidential candidate Doug Burgum, governor of North Dakota, injured himself while participating in a pick-up basketball game Tuesday.
Burgum was taken to an emergency room at a Milwaukee hospital for evaluation and was later released.
CNN is reporting that it is “unclear” if the 67-year-old Burgum will be able to take his place on the debate stage tonight alongside seven other Republican candidates. A candidates walk through of the debate site is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon with the debate to begin at 8 p.m. Central Time.
