MINOT – North Dakota governor and Republican presidential candidate Doug Burgum had apparently earned his spot on the debate stage with six other qualifying candidates. The first Republican debate is set for August 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
According to NBC News, Burgum hit 1% in his second national poll Tuesday, the Morning Consult, a requirement for candidates to appear on the national stage. He also surpassed the 40,000 donor level last week.
Burgum reportedly has spent more money on advertising than any of the other candidates since he announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for President June 7.
