Fire damaged a deck and the rear of a home in southwest Minot on Sunday.
The Minot Fire Department responded to 907-1st Ave. SW for a report of a deck on
fire. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found the deck and the back of the
home on fire. The fire had burned its way up the back of the house and an upstairs
bathroom window had broken, allowing smoke to enter the house.
Crews extinguished flames on the outside of the home while another crew entered
the structure to search for occupants and extinguish flames inside. No occupants
were found in the building and the fire was extinguished.
Utility companies were called to shut off services to the home. The cause of the fire
remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported at this incident.
