Beats Northern State 5-1, loses 10-5
MINOT, -- Minot State’s Reegan Floyd and Brooklyn Morrison led the way to an opening win, but despite a valiant comeback effort, the Beavers were forced to settle for a split in an NSIC doubleheader with visiting Northern State on Tuesday at the air-supported dome.
Floyd dominated in the circle and Morrison drove in three runs as Minot State started the day strong with a 5-1 win.
In the nightcap, the Beavers battled back from a seven-run deficit, closing to within a pair of runs of the visiting Wolves before the comeback fell short in a 10-5 setback.
Minot State (20-14 overall, 7-5 NSIC) now hits the road for six straight, starting with a doubleheader Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State.
