MARSHALL, Minn. – For the second time in as many days the Minot State softball team used a last at-bat charge to garner a split in NSIC play, this time rallying for three runs in the top of the seventh to top host Southwest Minnesota State 3-1 in the finale of their Monday doubleheader.
The host Mustangs won game one of the NSIC twinbill 2-1 over the Beavers (22-16 overall, 9-7 NSIC).
On Sunday, the Beavers split at Sioux Falls, plating nine runs in the top of the seventh in an 11-10 victory over the Cougars in game two of that doubleheader.
Minot State now closes out a six-game, four-day road trip playing a final NSIC doubleheader on Wednesday at Minnesota Crookston with first pitch scheduled for noon.
