Several projects underway
MINOT – Several construction projects in this city remain in progress despite winter weather. All are in various stages of completion. Let’s take a look at some of them.
Progress continues to be made on Minot’s newest fire station, No. 5, on 4th Avenue on the west side of the city. An early to mid-summer 2023 completion date is anticipated. A new fire engine for the station is also being built and will be delivered next year. (Photo: Kim Fundingsland/The Dakotan)

The Tracks is under construction immediately west of the Pinnacle Travel Plaza. When completed, it will be a multi-use development containing a variety of housing options and an entertainment plaza. A 2024 public opening is planned. (Photo: Kim Fundingsland/The Dakotan)
Outside construction of Trinity Hospital’s new Regional Healthcare Campus is complete and finishing work on the inside is nearing completion. It is expected that medical personnel will begin acquainting themselves with the new facility early next year. The moving of patients from the existing downtown Trinity Hospital could begin in late April 2023. (Photo: Kim Fundingsland/The Dakotan)
A building is being demolished on North Broadway, just to the north of the Dairy Queen, to make way for an O’Reilly Auto Parts store. The store will be in addition to the O’Reilly store on 20th Ave. SW. A spokesman said it is hoped that construction will be completed in early summer of next year. The building most recently housed the Great Plains Cigar Company and TLC International Market. (Photo: Kim Fundingsland/The Dakotan)
It’s not new construction but rather a seasonal project – the inflating of the air supported dome over the athletic field at Minot State University’s Herb Parker Stadium. The raising of the bubble has been a work in progress for several days. The indoor athletic facility could be inflated this week. (Photo: Kim Fundingsland/The Dakotan)
Highly visible atop Minot’s north hill, the Discovery Center continues on course to a grand opening. Workers are busy installing more than 150 interactive exhibits in the 28,000 square-foot building. The Discovery Center could open to the public as early as February 2023. (Photo: Kim Fundingsland/The Dakota n)
