MINOT – Though Christmas time isn’t quite here according to some, Ward County is planning ahead.

County Commissioners approved Tuesday an angel tree to be set up in the employee lounge at the County Administration Building.

Kerrianne Boetcher, Ward County library administrator, said the commissioners approved the same last year.

“Angel trees have ornaments on the tree and employees can come and take an ornament and buy whatever’s on the ornament,” said Boetcher.

Boetcher said it’s up to employees if they wish to participate.

“My goal is to have it up the week of Thanksgiving to give employees about a month to pick something from the tree if they want to,” said Boetcher.

All donations will be given to the Northern Plains Children’s Advocacy Center.

The motion to approve the angel tree passed unanimously.
