FATAL MOTORCYCLE CRASH NEAR TRENTON 

What: Fatal Single Vehicle Motorcycle Crash  

Where: ND 1804, mile marker 335, 5 miles west of Trenton  

When: 3:32 PM Central Time  

Road Conditions: Dry, concrete, good summer driving condition Weather Conditions: Mostly clear sky, 85 degrees, 17 mph winds  

Crash Involvement: Motorcycle  

Type of Crash: Ran off road/rollover  

Agencies Involved: North Dakota Highway Patrol Williams County Sheriff’s Office Williston Fire/EMS (ambulance) Williston Rural Fire Dept. Trenton Fire and First Responders  

Vehicle No. 1: 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle 

 Driver No. 1: Lonnie Paul Brannin, Williston, ND DECEASED 

Helmet: Not in use  

Charges: None  

NARRATIVE: On 8/20/2022 at approximately 3:32 PM CST, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was northbound on ND 1804, near mile marker 335, approximately 5 miles west of Trenton, ND. The driver of the motorcycle, Lonnie Paul Brannin, lost control while passing other traffic. The motorcycle entered the north ditch and overturned. Brannin was ejected off the motorcycle. Brannin was pronounced dead at the scene. Brannin was not wearing a helmet. The crash is being investigated by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
