MINOT — Minot Public Schools have three candidates running for two positions.
The terms for board members, Laura Mihalick and Miranda Schuler, are up, but neither will be running again.
The three candidates running for those positions are Sabrina Herrmann, Andrew Dittus, and Mitch Kraft.
Herrmann, who has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and worked for Minot Public Schools as Para Professional, is married with two children.
“Education is something that requires a lot of nuances, there is no perfect solution for everyone. Everyone has different needs and finding a resolution looks different for everyone," says Herrmann. "Minot is historically good at finding a compromise when needed, so the best solution for our students is achieved. It is an exciting time for education in Minot with good things happening. I want the momentum to continue and be a part of the team helping move this to the finish line and beyond."
Dittus, who has a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, is a Senior Staff Production Engineer in the Oil and Gas Industry. He is married with three children.
“If elected, I would be a parent with children within MPS and a voice to not only help make rational educated decisions but fight for our youth and all those involved at developing our future leaders,” says Dittus.
Kraft, who has a degree in Business Management, is married and has two daughters. He has been the president of multiple organizations and is currently the branch manager for Prairie Supply, Inc.
“I enjoy living and serving in our community and I would appreciate your vote in the upcoming election. I am looking forward to listening and communicating the current and future needs for our students,” says Kraft.
The election is scheduled for June 14, and the winners will take office for a four-year term on July 1.
