Minot --The public is invited to the grand opening of the new Magic City Discovery Center located on Minot’s North Hill on Friday, May 5, 2023. The center’s doors will be open at 10 a.m.
Executive Director Wendy Keller shared, “This discovery center is a world class facility and one of a kind. The signature Magic Climber complete with a B-52 bomber atop an oil derrick is sure to captivate the young minds that will be visiting the center to discover, create, explore, and learn in our 12 unique galleries and over 150 hands-on learning exhibits.”
The initial dream of building a children’s museum in Minot emerged in 2013 when the Give 360 group brought forth the concept. The dream is now a reality after the completion of the $20 million dollar project which was funded by private donations, the Department of Defense Community Infrastructure Pilot (DCIP) Program, Minot Parks, City of Minot, and the ND Department of Public Instruction.
The mission of the MCDC is to engage children and families in the magic of lifelong learning through discovery, creativity, and play.
Information regarding annual and corporate memberships, admission, and hours can be found at MagicCityDiscoveryCenter.com and the center’s Facebook page.
