(MINOT, ND)—Trinity Health Nutrition Services has released its schedule of food events for 2023. The series, consisting of five grocery store tours and four cooking classes, will offer ideas to help families enhance mealtime in the new year with foods that are tasty, nutritious and affordable.
The series will kick off January 10 with a cooking class to help participants learn how to swap ingredients to transform recipes into healthier versions of themselves. “Healthy Swaps” will be held in the Trinity Health Community Conference Room at Town & Country Center from 2 to 3 p.m.
Other events during the year will focus on the DASH eating plan for heart health, the Mediterranean diet, stir fry sauces, low-salt cooking, diabetes, gluten intolerance and cooking for 1 or 2.
Cooking class topics and dates are: Healthy Swaps – January 10, 2 to 3 p.m.; Stir Fry Sauces – April 11, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Low/No Salt Cooking – October 10, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.; and Cooking for 1 or 2 – December 12, 2 to 3 p.m.
Grocery store tour dates and topics are: DASH Eating Plan – February 7, 2 to 3 p.m.; Diabetes – March 14, 6 to 7 p.m.; Celiac Disease/Gluten Intolerance – May 9, 6 to 7 p.m.; Mediterranean Diet – September 12, 6 to 7 p.m.; and Diabetes – November 7, 2 to 3 p.m.
