Minot, ND — The Minot Police Department has issued a public alert following a troubling series of drug overdoses in the community. In the last 48 hours, officers responded to three non-fatal overdoses. Tragically, investigators uncovered a fatal overdose today that appears to be linked to the same batch of narcotics involved in the previous incidents.
Authorities believe the drugs may have been misrepresented or laced with unknown and potentially lethal substances, increasing the risk of overdose and death. The police department is urging the public to remain vigilant and to seek help if struggling with substance use.
“We remain committed to responding to these situations—providing life-saving medical assistance, working to connect individuals with treatment resources, and investigating these cases to hold those responsible accountable.,” the department stated on its Facebook page.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking for the community’s help in both prevention and response.
If you or someone you know is facing addiction, confidential help is available by calling the Community Resources Helpline at 211 or the 24-Hour Emergency Crisis Line at 701-857-8500.
Police also reminded the public of North Dakota’s Good Samaritan Law, which protects individuals who call for emergency help during an overdose. To qualify for immunity from prosecution:
1. Call 911
2. Remain at the scene until help arrives
3. Cooperate with law enforcement and emergency responders
“Even one life lost is too many,” the department emphasized. “Let’s work together to keep our community safe.”
