MINOT – Despite an unseasonably warm winter, Minot Parks is thrilled to announce
opening of two outdoor skating rinks on Saturday, January 6. The open locations—Perkett and
Polaris—have dedicated warming houses open Monday to Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM and
Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9:30 PM. Corbett and Roosevelt will be opening later next
week.
New this winter season, Minot Parks is excited to introduce skate rentals, available at all
warming houses. This addition aims to enhance the skating experience for the community. Youth
and adult skates will be available to rent for $2.
“Our team has been working hard to get the rinks ready for the 2024 season. We understand
outdoor skating and hockey are a winter activity staple in the Magic City and are excited to be
able to open up the rinks this weekend. The skate rentals this year is a great addition for more of
the Minot Community to enjoy the outdoor rinks this season” says, Recreation Manager, Ann
Nesheim.
As a friendly reminder, please refrain from skating on the rinks until they are officially open to
the public. Skating on unfinished ice can impede the freezing process and delay the overall
enjoyment of the rinks.
Minot Parks invites everyone to embrace the winter season, lace up their skates, and enjoy the
outdoor skating experience at these wonderful community locations.
