MINOT -- Sara Brentrup has been named Education Director of the Magic City
Discovery Center effective November 9. Things have come full circle as Sara was one of
the people who sparked the idea of bringing a children's museum to Minot way back in
2013.
“I am honored to be moving into this position at the Magic City Discovery Center. We
have spent many years taking our own kids to children’s museums and discovery
centers around the country and now we have the opportunity to explore one in our own
community,” Brentrup said. “I have a passion for writing engaging STEAM curriculum
for children and am excited to expand the educational opportunities offered by MCDC. I
hope to inspire children in our state to find fun in Science, Technology, Engineering,
Arts, and Math.”
Brentrup comes to the Magic City Discovery Center with lots of valuable experience as
she owned and operated Children's Garden Preschool for 19 years with her husband,
Shaun. Brentrup will transition to full-time hours in the next couple of months. She is a
Minot native, is married, and has 5 children.
Executive Director Wendy Keller shared, “I love that Sara had the idea to bring a
children's museum to Minot over 10 years ago and now she works here! We are thrilled
to have her join our team.”
The mission of the MCDC is to engage children and families in the magic of lifelong
learning through discovery, creativity, and play.
