Pedestrian Fatality Identified

NARRATIVE:
On Friday, August 4, 2023, around 3:45 AM, the North Dakota Highway Patrol received a
report that a female pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle on Highway 23 near mile marker
52 -- approximately 1 mile east of New Town. A 31-year-old female Traci Demarce from
Roseglen, ND was located deceased. A witness advised that a vehicle had struck the female
and left the scene.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the primary investigating agency and are being
assisted by the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Three Affiliated Tribes Police, and the Mountrail
County Sheriff’s Department.
Law Enforcement is asking the public for any information related to the incident. Anyone with
information is asked to call the FBI at 763-569-8000 or the North Dakota Highway Patrol at
(admin line) 701-328-2447 or (State Radio) 701-328-9921.
Any inquiries regarding this case should be directed to the FBI.
This incident remains under investigation by the FBI with the assistance of the North Dakota
Highway Patrol, Three Affiliated Tribes Police and Mountrail County Sheriff’s Department.
