MINOT – The Minot Symphony Orchestra will host its 29th annual Secret Garden Tour and Vendor Store on Wednesday July 12 from 4:30 to 8:30 pm.
Enjoy an enchanting journey through six secret gardens in the Magic City. Discover the magic where melodies bloom and harmony thrives. Immerse yourself in the colors and textures of flowers, shrubs, succulents, yard art, rock gardens, fruit trees, and much more. Featured gardens include Venable, Mitchell, Saari, Dyste, Johnson, and the First Lutheran Church Children’s Memorial Garden.
During this annual open house style event ticketholders can travel to the featured gardens and spend time enjoying a variety of perennial and annual flower beds, vegetable gardens, and yard art while listening to the sounds of nature and local musicians.
Interior Designer, Deborah Dyste, says, “The garden is where I can freely experiment with color, curves and contrast!” ‘Behold the joy of small, mounded, peach snap-dragons in front of sprawling, purple petunias backed by a patch of the gracefully marching and softly bending green leaves of spring’s irises. Meandering edges, winding steps and ribbons of hostas calmly lead us on. ‘View the froth of a variegated ground cover surrounding the graceful arms of a decades-old Cotoneaster and slowly move your gaze to an aging blue wall behind waving ferns.
Tickets can be purchased at Lowe’s Garden Center located at 1640 4th Ave. NE Minot or Visit Minot located at 1020 S. Broadway Minot for $15 in advance or $20 at each garden. Children under the age of 10 are free. The first stop of the tour will be First Lutheran Church located at 120 5th Ave. NW. Attendees are asked to park in the north parking lot and visit the ticket booth to receive their map for the remaining gardens.
The vendor store on the tour showcases talented artists with handmade art, yard art and décor, and more.
“This is the perfect opportunity to take time to stop and smell the roses! All while supporting your Minot Symphony Orchestra. Spend a couple of hours listening to live music while enjoying the beauty of Mother Nature and shop at the vendor store featuring artists and vendors. The tour will go on rain or shine!” said executive director, Ellen Fenner.
All proceeds from this event will benefit the programming of the Minot Symphony Orchestra, a university and community orchestra that aims to enrich lives by providing opportunities for musicians and inspiration to patrons through education and the performance of diverse orchestral repertoire.
