MINOT – This city’s first-ever Small Business Association Expo with be held at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds.
Calum Kinstler, Minot SBA director, has been organizing this event for the past few months to create an opportunity for community engagement with these small businesses.
“The main issue for a business other than creating a good product, is getting it in front of people. Online is very saturated because of the money that it takes to advertise there,” Kinstler stated. “So, getting that community is being different because now everything is so online that getting face to face with your customers and building relationships maybe is a good opportunity now.”
While the Small Business Expo is the first event for the Minot SBA, this is just the beginning of the road for the Association and its future plans.
Kinstler said, “After the event, we will be building the website, minotsmallbusiness.com, where we will have a business services division that can help small businesses. We will sit down with them one on one and help them with anything from a business or marketing plan to taking over their marketing and advertising or at least helping them with strategy. We'll have free and paid services.”
The Expo will be taking place this Saturday and Sunday at 4-H Hall inside the State Fair Center. Kinstler mentioned that there would be several small businesses, some banks, and other organizations that will have booths at the Expo. The doors are open from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on both days.
