On October 1, 2022, the Ward County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a deceased male, found in rural area near the 4500 block of Highway 83, south of Minot. Estimates are that the male has been deceased for approximately six (6) weeks. No identifying information was found at the scene. The male does not match any current missing persons in our area. It is believed he is a transient.
An autopsy was completed on October 4, 2022, by the North Dakota State Medical Examiner, and no foul play is suspected. DNA samples were delivered to the North Dakota State Crime Lab for identification purposes.
The male is approximately 72 inches (6 feet) tall with longer brown/black hair. The male was wearing a Sportsman’s Warehouse t-shirt. If you have any information, please contact the Ward County Sheriff’s Department at (701) 857-6500.
