Driver No. 1: 32-year-old male – Bismarck – serious injuries
Restraints: No helmet

Vehicle No. 2: BNSF Locomotive Train – 70 cars with mixed freight and some empty
Driver No. 2: 61-year-old male – Bismarck, ND (Engineer) – no injuries Restraints: N/A

Passenger No. 1: 55-year-old male – Bismarck, ND (conductor) – no injuries

NARRATIVE: The BNSF locomotive was traveling southbound on a BNSF railway at approximately 25mph. The Bombardier ATV was traveling eastbound on a gravel roadway along a private field. The ATV proceeded to cross the railroad tracks at a marked crossing and was struck by the locomotive. The driver of the ATV sustained serious injuries and was transported to Sanford hospital by Metro Ambulance Service. The train Engineer and Conductor were not injured.
This crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
