BISMARCK — The North Dakota Highway Patrol and Bismarck Police Department in cooperation with the Burleigh County Sheriff’s Department, Morton County Sheriff’s Department, and Mandan Police Department conducted a detail on April 26, 2022.
The NDHP airplane monitored traffic stops conducted by officers in the Bismarck area.
During the detail, an officer with the Bismarck Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle fled, and the officer did not pursue. The NDHP airplane was monitoring and tracked the vehicle east of Bismarck along Interstate 94 where a NDHP trooper then tried to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle again fled, and the trooper did not pursue. The NDHP airplane tracked the vehicle back to Bismarck where it parked, and two subjects proceeded on foot. The NDHP airplane tracked the subjects to a residence in the 1600 block of North 14th St.
Officers made contact at the residence and apprehended Brandon Schweitzer, 32.
