MINOT — Logan Longtin officially announced his candidacy for one of the three seats on the Minot Park Board up for election on June 14.
Longtin said that his inspiration for running stems from his belief that a community’s parks and public spaces reflect the health and vitality of that community.
“I want to be a good steward for Minot’s parks,” said Longtin. “I see a lot of opportunities for further development of our community’s public spaces, and I hope to be a positive force on the Park Board in continuing to push Minot in the right direction.”
Longtin grew up in Williston before leaving to attend college at the University of North Dakota. Shortly after graduating in 2020, Longtin moved to Minot and has since worked as an educator for at-risk youth.
“Ever since I was a kid, Minot was this fun, interesting community that I always looked forward to getting to visit,” said Longtin. “I’m grateful for the opportunity now to finally live here and call this place
home.”
If elected, Longtin stated that his priorities include installing free public Wi-Fi in areas of city parks, expanding Minot’s bike path system, developing the greenway, and supporting the necessary infrastructure for Minot’s recycling program.
