MINOT — The City of Minot’s new utility billing system will go live on April 18.
Current city utility customers who use electronic bank transfer or recurring credit card payments will need to create a new account when the new system begins operating, according to Finance Director Dave Lakefield. Accounts can only be created once the new system is in use.
“The new system includes features that make viewing bills and paying online much more convenient,” Lakefield said. “This will be a major improvement for our customers, but they will need to create a new account to access the system. If you aren’t currently using electronic methods to pay your city utility bill, April 18 is the start of an excellent opportunity to make the switch to online billing.”
Under the new system, customers will have options to perform a variety of functions, including ways to view a bill online, link a bank account for auto pay, link a credit card for recurring payments, and make one-time credit card payments. Customers will still have options to pay bills by mail and by phone.
The city will provide updates and information to utility customers regarding the new system, Lakefield said. Information will be distributed through the City of Minot’s website at min-otnd.org, on city social media pages, in the twice-monthly electronic city newsletter, and in letters included with monthly utility bills.
