MINOT — Tuesday morning the Minot 911 system went down between 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minot Police Department Chief John Klug addressed the City Council Tuesday evening and explained, “This is the longest period of time that this has happened. This is the third time that 911 has gone down in the past, little over a year… We’re told there is redundancy, but somehow both the system and the redundancy has failed on three occasions. This one is evidently an issue, at least what we’re told at this point, an issue with fiber optic in Fargo.”

Chief Klug said within the next week he should have more details as to what is causing the 911 system to crash.
