CARPIO — The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a Donnybrook man died in a head-on collision with a semi Saturday night near Carpio.
According to the NDHP, the 23-year-old was driving a pickup on Highway 52 around 10:15 p.m. when he veered into the opposite lane, striking the semi head-on. The semi ignited upon impact.
The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver was not injured.
Hwy 52 was shut down for a period of time and traffic was re-routed.
The crash remains under investigation. The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
