BISMARCK — Strong winds are expected to sweep across North Dakota later today and persist throughout the nighttime hours.
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for the entire state effective from 6 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday. Forecasters say northwest winds of 35 will gust to near 60 mph, causing blowing snow and travel difficulty.
The mid-30s temperatures of Monday morning over much of the state will plummet to below zero readings by Tuesday night. Statewide wind chills will range from minus 25 to minus 50 through Thursday morning.
