MAPLETON—The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a semi lost control and rolled on I-94 Tuesday morning, blocking the westbound lanes.
According to the NDHP, the 2020 Freightliner was traveling eastbound about two miles west of Mapleton. At approximately 11:45 a.m., the 53-year-old driver from Edmonton, AB, lost control on the scattered ice, and the semi crossed the median and rolled across the westbound side of I-94.
Westbound traffic was detoured onto Highway 10 for about 75 minutes while the semi was righted and removed from the scene. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office and NDDOT assisted with the detour route.
The driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. He was charged with Care Required.
